PROJECT VISION

This project is focused on Augmented Reality at the table-top scale. In the future when everyone is wearing their AR enabled eye-wear most of the time, what kind of future will it be? Will it be a glorious information-rich world or an advertising nightmare. We are going to explore this a bit by looking into what breakfast might become in this new world. Right now you may have a place mat, a box of cereal, a carton of milk, a can of juice, each with their own graphics, but what if those objects were to be more aggressive in trying to get your attention? Or, what if the place mat was trying to get you to eat healthy by giving you the nutritional information on what you are eating?

THEME OF OUR PROJECT

The theme of our project is Nature.Imagine a future where you can have breakfast outdoor without being there.You can customize your environment according to your mood.It can be cool calm beach or isolated place.The more cool thing is your cereal comes in whole new avatar along with drink that will amaze you.For more fun we also have magazine.You will experience a change in season and location throughout the project.With this let's introduce you to our project.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

We used unity 3d as software tool for designing this project.The database was created with help of vuforia.The project consists of 12 scenarios.It consist 4 objects that are augmented.These objects are Placemat,Cereal Box,drinks and magazine.Among these scenarios you will get close experience to nature in augmented world.Additionally,to fulfill graduate requirement we have also recreated scenes from King kong and Dragon ball.There are self made 3d models as well which was designed using Sketchup.There are animation and audio in each scene.If you place any cereal or can on placemat there is a certain kind of reaction.

SCENE1:Beach

The first scene is of a beach on a placemat.The idea behind this is to have breakfast with soothing milieu around.The spokesperson is a tortise.The models used for this scenes are mud mountain,palm trees,water,boat and rocks.The self made model is hot air ballon.There is a soft audio of wter flowing.The scene is evident in image below.The animation part is butterfly flying.

SCENE 2:Garden

The second scene is of a garden on a placemat.The idea behind this is to have breakfast at garden in a rural environment(a happy scene).The spokesperson is sheep.The models used for this scenes are grass,fence,well,butterfly,sheep,shed and barrel.The self made model is a sunflower.The audio is of sheep.The scene is evident in image below.The boat moves and comes back and tortoise shows movement.

SCENE 3:Hen House

The third scene is of hen house depicting cereal box1.The spokesperson is chicken.The models used for this scenes are hen house,fence,well,butterfly,sheep,shed and barrel.The self made model is a water container for birds.The audio is of chicken's voice.The scene is evident in image below.The birds here moves is a part of animation.

SCENE 4:Town House

The fourth scene is of a cereal box as town house.The spokesperson is sheep.The spokesperson is pumpkin.The models used for this scenes are windmill,pumpkin,grass,bricks,moon and stars.The self made model is a chair.The audio is a pumpkin laughing.The scene is evident in image below.The chair moves to and fro.

SCENE 5:King Kong

The fifth scene is of cereal box with king kong recreation.The spokesperson is Gorilla.The models used for this scenes are gorilla,tanker,cars,helicopter and palm tree.The self made model is a combination of rain that includes3d object and animation.The audio is of helicopter moving.The scene is evident in image below.

SCENE 6 :Dragon Ball

The sixth scene is of cereal box with dragon ball recreation.The spokesperson is Goku.The models used for this scenes are goku,shenron,zeno,Kid buu and dragon balls.The self made model is a bowl as zeno's asset.The scene is evident in image below.Shenron here shows movement..

SCENE 7:Volcano

The seventh scene is of drink as a Volcano.The idea behind is of hot drinkl.The spokesperson is dragon.The models used for this scenes are dragon1,dragon2,mountain,grass and cactus.The self made model is a dragon egg.The audio is of dragon roar.The scene is evident in image below.The animation is in form of dragon movement.

SCENE 8:Farm House

The eigth scene is of drink as a village.The idea behind this is to have drink which is healthy.The spokesperson is cow.The models used for this scenes are cow,farm,grass,fence,crop and bucket.The self made model is a handpump.The audio is of cow mooing .The scene is evident in image below.The animation is in form of handpump movement.

SCENE 9:Barren Land

The ninth scene is of a barren land.The idea behind this is to have a drink which is simple.The spokesperson is fox.The models used for this scenes are wolf,rock stand,stones,mud tower and tree.The self made model are bones.The audio is of sheep.The scene is evident in image below.The animation is in form of wolf moving..

SCENE 10:Ice world

The tenth scene is of a drink representing ice world.The idea behind this is to have cold drink..The spokesperson is penguin.The models used for this scenes are penguin,ice,flower, bridge and plant.The self made model is a snowman.The audio is snowstorm.The scene is evident in image below.The animation is in form of penguin and flower movements..

SCENE 11:Magazine 1

The eleventh scene is of a magazine.It includes images of cars as you flip the pages.

SCENE 12:Magazine 2

The twelth scene is of another magazine.It is depiction of wired magazine.


INSTRUCTIONS TO BUILD THE APPLICATION


Download the project from the link below.Install UNITY 3D incase you don't have it on your system.Extract the folder named arvrPrj1-part3 4.zip.Open the file in unity 3d.Add ARcamera and remove the main camera.Choose the target you want to see and place it infront of your screen.Click on game option bar and press play button present on top of screen.

AUGMENTED REALITY: MY LEARNING EXPERIENCE


This project gave a great opportunity to explore tools and learn augmented reality in depth.I got a chance to explore several tools.This project helped me in several ways.First and the foremost part I want to describe is about learning tool and it's utilization.Previously,I've worked on tools where everything was realted to coding,compilation and debugging.This time working on Unity 3d was an amazing experience.
